Create a new Text Block

A Text Block is a meaningful piece of text that can be reused for different purposes. A Text Block is usually one or two paragraphs long.

  1. Click the project and navigate to Content > Text Blocks.
  2. Click the folder with the document to contain a new Text Block and then click New Text Block in the New pane on the right.
The New Text Block window appears.
  3. Enter a name for the Text Block and click OK.
The Text Block appears in the folder.

The name of the Text Block cannot contain any of the following characters:

    : ? / < > * " | \ ( ) .

  4. To add text to the Text Block, click the Text Block and then click Edit in the View and Edit pane on the right.
    The Text Block Editor appears.
  5. Create the text. You can add Fields. To learn more about the editor's functionality, see Format the text in a document.
    • When you paste text with special characters from a different editor, such as Microsoft Word, or a Rich Text Block to a Text Block, the Text Block Editor attempts to make the transformation as faithful to the original source as possible, but some content may still be lost in the process.

  6. Save your changes.

To see how the Text Block is going to look in the result document, see Test an object.
