Rename an object

An object can be renamed only if it is available for renaming. You cannot rename an object if it is referred to by name elsewhere in the application. You cannot rename folders directly or indirectly containing objects that are referred to by name elsewhere in the application.

The name of the object cannot contain any of the following characters:

: ? / < > * " | \ ( ) .

The names of the following objects are restricted to use only characters from the character set ISO 8859-1 (Latin-1):

  • Document Pack Templates
  • Document Templates
  • Folders
  • Includes
  • Letter Books
  • Master Templates
  • Projects
  1. Navigate to the object to rename, click it, and then click Rename in the Other Actions pane on the right.

    The Rename window appears.

  2. Enter a new name for the object and click OK.

    The object appears with a new name.
