Increased collaboration between Technical and Citizen developers

Collaboration between the Citizen developer and the Technical developer is increased to help them work seamlessly.

Easy navigation between designers

You can easily move between the TotalAgility Designer and the "Quick App designer" if you have permission to access them.

  • Navigating between the designers is easier with hyperlinks on the Home page.

  • A link to edit the workflow is available on both the designers.

  • A new "Quick App designer" option is also added to the Recent item list of the "Advanced designer".

Switch edit modes for workflow

Within the solution itself, the developer can switch between edit modes for the workflow using either the "Quick App designer" or the TotalAgility Designer. Switch to Advanced modeEdit in Quick App

Edit items from solution associations

All items generated when the solution is published are listed within the solution associations in the context menu of the solution list page. If the user has access to the Advanced designer , the name of the item appears as a hyperlink and can be opened for editing. Solution associations

Extending your Quick App solution

To facilitate adding more advanced capabilities to a Quick App solution, the "Quick App designer" and the TotalAgility Designer are updated to include the following enhancements to generated items.

Changes made within the TotalAgility Designer that would have previously removed the solution from the Quick App are now supported.

  • Any unsupported nodes added via the TotalAgility Designer are displayed as read-only when the solution is opened in the "Quick App designer". Active

  • All variable types added within the TotalAgility Designer are available for use within nodes in the "Quick Apps designer". Any unsupported variable types appear read-only in Quick Apps.

You can edit a work type in the "Advanced designer" and the updates are applied to the Quick App solution. For more information, see Modify a workflow solution in TotalAgility Designer.

Design node in Quick Apps

A new Design node added to Quick App is useful for Citizen developers who have not been granted the necessary access permissions to the advanced designer.

Using this node, a Citizen developer can provide an "implementation note" to request specific functionality from a developer. The developer can then replace this node with the requested functionality in the advanced designer. For more information, see Design activity.

Collaboration note improvement

Using the collaboration notes, a Citizen developer and Technical developer can communicate with each other. In TotalAgility 8.0.0, this functionality is extended to allow both the Citizen and Technical developers to add collaboration notes, and action on them.

For example, an App user can add a note for the Citizen developer and Technical developer to report a problem or request additional functionality. This note is then displayed as a collaboration note in the "Quick App designer" and a process note in the TotalAgility Designer.Active

Notes can be added and actioned within Quick Workflow, Quick RPA, and TotalAgility Designer without the need to save or release and unnecessarily update the version.

An indicator is shown when there are unactioned notes in a solution. Collaboration note

Make workflows available for use in Quick Apps

In earlier versions, the developer needed to update system settings to make a process, rule, or custom service available for use within Quick Apps. Now the user can make a workflow available directly in TotalAgility Apps using the new Quick App option available on the File tab.Active

Capture capabilities

To extend Capture capabilities within Apps, the following node types are added to Quick Workflow with basic properties:

  • Classification

  • Extraction

  • Document Review

  • Validation

To facilitate these capabilities, the "Classification group" and "Initialize from scan" properties are available at the workflow level within Quick Workflow. For more information, see Modify a workflow solution in TotalAgility Designer.

Associated forms

Citizen developers can generate Activity forms for any manual task using the new Associated form property.

A "Create new job" form is enhanced to create either a standard form or a "Scan create new job" form based on the "Initialize from scan" workflow property.
