Trigger mappings
Use the Trigger mappings option to view, add, edit, and remove trigger mappings.
Triggers are part of the Attended Automation functionality in Robots. A robot with a trigger reacts to an event on a remote device. Mapping is only available for robots with triggers.
Before adding mappings:
-
Enable triggers in a robot.
-
Upload the robot to the Management Console.
After you enable triggers, upload robots, and create the mappings, the Management Console provides a list of triggers to the Desktop Automation Service, based on the mappings. When a trigger event is detected on a remote device, the Desktop Automation Service sends a notification to the Management Console, and the robot performs the programmed steps. For example, a robot trigger inserts or extracts data when an application is opened.
On each remote Desktop Automation Service where you want to deploy a robot with a trigger, you must add the trigger mapping. For example, if you want the same robot triggered on multiple remote devices, you must add the trigger mapping to each Desktop Automation Service.
