Enable foldering for a project
Before you can start to add folders to your project, you need to enable foldering. Once you have enabled foldering and added the necessary configurations, you can add folder fields, configure the folder field validation form, and test your foldering.
If you disable foldering, the configured settings for foldering are deleted from your project. This means that if you enable foldering at a later time, you have to configure them once again.
You can enable foldering for a project by following these steps:
- Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
-
On the
Project tab, in the
Configuration group, select
Project Settings
.
-
On the
General tab, in the
Foldering group, select
Enable folders.
Foldering is enabled for your project and the Project Folder
is added automatically to the bottom of the Project Tree.
-
On the
Project tab, in the
Configuration group, select
Project Settings
.
-
In the
Project Tree, select the newly added
Project Folder
.
The Folder properties are displayed in the Details window.
-
Enable or clear the
Can contain documents setting.
Clearing this setting means that the Project Folder can only contains other folders, and no documents.
-
Select the
Project Folder in the
Project Tree and then select
Show Script from the shortcut menu.
The Script window is displayed so you can configure your script.
-
Optionally, add additional folders and configure their settings.
Each folder can contain only a single folder.
- Save the changes to your project.
