PDF generation activity
Use the PDF generation activity to automatically create a PDF from a document or all documents in a folder.
A PDF generation activity creates a PDF from a document using the settings defined in a PDF generation profile. You can configure this activity to determine whether certain metadata fields in the generated PDF are populated from a document field or a fixed value. If you chose "Document", the PDF metadata field is populated with the value of a document field. However, the metadata field is only populated if the document is classified. If the document is not classified, a PDF with no metadata field is created.
You can embed miscellaneous files in PDF generation.
Before you attach files to the PDF generation, ensure to do the following:
-
Upload these files as asset files.
-
Set the text extension to hold the asset name in the format, "PdfAttachment.AssetName.0" for the first document, "PdfAttachment.AssetName.1" for the second, and so on. Ensure to start with 0 and leave no gaps.
The PDF Generation activity considers text extensions in that format and automatically attaches them to the PDF.
