Amount Formatting window
Use this window to configure amount formats such as the decimal symbol or the currency character.
If this validation method is in a sequence of validation methods, it is not fired if the previous validation method fails.
- Amount Analysis

This group has the following settings:
- Allow negative amounts

Select this setting to allow for negative amounts as valid input. (Default: Selected)
- Require decimal point

Select this setting if the input value is expected to have a decimal point. (Default: Selected)
- Allow 3 decimal places

Select this setting to treat input values terminating in three decimal places as fractions rather than whole numbers. (Default: Cleared)
- Allow empty field

Select this setting to allow an empty field to be valid. If this setting is not selected, and a field is empty, it is marked as invalid.
(Default: Cleared)

This group has the following settings:
- Decimal symbol

Select decimal symbol character. (Default: system default)
This means that the decimal symbol is determined by the operating system of the local computer.
- No of decimal places

Select a number between 0 and 4 that defines how many decimal places are used. (Default: 2)
- Currency

This group enables you to do the following:
Use the Add or Delete buttons to insert or delete currency phrases. A currency phrase may be found on the document next to an amount. If there is no space between the amount and the currency phrase, then the OCR engine puts them together.
- Testing

This group enables you to do the following:
To test the settings, enter some sample input text and click Format
. The sample text is formatted per the settings and displayed in the output field. If the sample cannot be formatted per the settings, a warning or error message is displayed.
