Add additional fields based on existing fields

If you have already added a field for extraction on a document, it is not possible to add a field with the same name on another document. To add the same field on another document, use the "Existing field" setting.

You can add the same field on another document by referencing an existing field:

  1. In the Field Extraction tab, select a document to define its fields.
  2. To lasso a field manually, hide the suggested fields by clicking Hide suggested fields. Otherwise, select a suggested field.

One of the following windows is displayed, depending on how the field was added originally:

    • Add field window: Displayed when you lasso a field.

    • Add suggested field window: Displayed when you select a suggested field.

    • Add Copilot Auto Extract field window: Displayed when you add a description-based field.

  3. From the New or existing setting, select Existing field.
  4. Select a value for an already defined field from the Name list.

It is not possible to add bar codes in this way. No bar code fields appear in this list.

If the field you are adding requires an additional Keyword, you must first add the field here and then edit the field to add the new keyword.

  5. Click Save.

The existing field is applied to the selected, lassoed, or described field.

  6. Optional. Add this same field to other documents, or other fields to this and other documents until the training circle is green for the current document type.
