Working with data in tables

Table cells may need to be validated or verified similar to validating or verifying text fields. If there is an error in a table cell, the table will have an invalid field icon displayed in its top-right corner and the invalid cell appears in red.

From the table toolbar, you can add, delete and interpolate table rows. Depending on the field's settings, the toolbar may not be displayed.

Options Name and Description

Delete Row— Removes the selected row from the table. This option is only enabled when you select a row. You cannot undo this option.

Add Row— Adds an empty row to the bottom of the table.

Insert Row at Current Position— Inserts an empty row above the selected row.

Interpolate Rows— Attempts to automatically complete a table that you have partially completed manually.

When working with tables, consider the following:

  • Select multiple rows by holding CTRL or SHIFT while clicking the mouse in each row, or by using the ARROW keys and SPACE bar to select each row.

  • Resize the columns in a table to better view cell contents. You can also use the scroll bars (if available) for large tables.

  • Use the TAB key or UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to move between table cells.

  • If you cannot validate a table cell, you may be able to override it. If a table cell is overridden, the error icon disappears.

  • If you cannot validate a table, you can override the entire table and force it to be valid. This option is only available for empty tables. To force the table to be valid, select the table's title bar and click Force Table Valid in the main toolbar.
