Interactive scheduling
Jobs are distributed over the available Communications Manager Document Processors in the order they arrive. If a Communications Manager Core instance is used to service both interactive and batch jobs, long running batch jobs can cause a delay in the processing of interactive jobs, degrading the user experience for interactive users.
Communications Manager Core provides two options on the Advanced tab of the Communications Manager Core Administrator:
- Prioritize interactive requests over Batch requests.
This option forces Communications Manager Core to prioritize interactive requests over batch requests whenever a Communications Manager Document Processor becomes available. Interactive requests can still be delayed if all Communications Manager Document Processors are busy servicing a batch request.
- Reserve Document Processors for Interactive requests.
This option forces Communications Manager Core to always reserve the indicated number of Communications Manager Document processors for interactive jobs. Batch jobs are only run if there are more Communications Manager Document Processors available than this limit.
