Stopping Communications Manager Instance
This section describes how you can use the StopInstance.exe tool to stop the Communications Manager instance in your installation.
StopInstance.exe is a command-line tool intended stop all Communications Manager Instance services and set them to disabled.
How the tool works
This section describes how the StopInstance.exe tool works.
- Stops all Windows services of the specified Communications Manager instance and sets them to disabled.
- Undoes the registration of the instance from the Contract Manager if it was registered previously.
- Unlocks the repository database from the Communications Manager Instance by removing the validation id.
Execution steps
To stop the installed Communications Manager instance, execute the following steps:

Open the command line interface (CLI). It could be PowerShell or Command Prompt.

In the CLI, navigate to the folder where the StopInstance.exe is located.

Call the StopInstance.exe file with the necessary parameters.
If everything is correct, the process will run without errors. You will be able to follow the it by reading the CLI output.
