Configuration of Communications Manager Repository Server and Communication Manager Designer for Windows is stored in the .ini configuration files. One .ini file exists per server (that is, Communications Manager Repository Server), and another exists for each client (that is, Communications Manager Designer for Windows). Both files are named itprep.ini and use the same syntax but have different content and settings.

The configuration file for Communications Manager Repository Server is located at: <deploy root>\CommunicationsManager\Work\<version>\Instance_<num>\designer\Config.

Example C:\CommunicationsManager\Work\2025.3\Instance_01\designer\Config

You can edit these .ini files in a text editor of your choice.

The configuration files are read at startup. You need to restart Communication Manager Designer for Windows on the client once you edit the client configuration file. Restart the Communications Manager Repository Server once you edit the server configuration file.
