Upload Static Documents

A Static Document is a document that you can upload to KCM Designer and use unchanged. Static Documents can include maps, diagrams, attachments, and so on.

Static Documents do not contain dynamic elements such as Text Blocks, Content Wizards, Fields, or others.

  1. Navigate to Content > Static Documents.
  2. Click New Static Document in the New pane on the right.
    The New Static Document window appears.
  3. Enter a name for the Static Document and click OK.

    The Static Document appears in the Static Documents folder.

  4. Click the Static Document you just created and click Upload locally edited file in the View and Edit pane on the right.

    The Upload new version window appears.

  5. Click Upload, navigate to the file to upload, and then click Open.
    Supported file formats are .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, and .pdf.
    Note The maximum supported size of the uploaded file is 40 MB.

    You will receive a notification if the file is successfully uploaded.

  6. Click Close.
  7. To edit the Static Document, you can download it to your computer, use the editor of your choice, and then upload it back to KCM Designer. To do so, click the object and then click Download for editing locally in the View and Edit pane on the right. Click Just download or click Lock and download to lock the object for other users. When you finish editing the object in your editor, save it and then click Upload locally edited file in KCM Designer to upload the file from your computer.
  8. To create a Document Template for the Static Document, click it and then click Create Document Template in the Other Actions pane.

    The Document Template appears in Document Templates.

  9. To view the Static Document you uploaded, navigate to Communications > Document Templates. Click the Document Template for the Static Document and then click Test in the Other Actions pane on the right.
