Configure an Embedded process activity

Use the following procedure to configure an Embedded process activity.

  1. Add an activity to the map.

    By default, the Configuration tab is open in the properties panel of the activity.

  2. Change the default Name of the activity to something meaningful.
  3. On the Type list, select Common > Embedded process.
  4. On the Process list, select the process/case to embed in the parent process.

    You cannot use a document set enabled process/case as an embedded process.

  5. To override the existing process with another process at runtime, do the following:
    1. Select Override. (Default: Clear)
    2. Select ID or Name and select a server or process variable of type String.

      At runtime, the process identified in the variable is used to override the existing process.

      • If the variable value is empty, the actual selected process is used.

      • No job is created if the specified ID or name is incorrect.

  6. Save the process map.
  7. Configure other properties for this activity. See Activity properties.
