Bar Code Recognition

Use the Bar Code Recognition settings to specify how bar codes should be recognized.

Re-use defined bar code recognition methods (default)

Bar codes are recognized on every page scanned or imported in the Scan or Quality Control modules only when one of the following conditions is met:

• The Tungsten bar code separators profile is selected as the document separation method.

• A bar code enabled recognition profile (such as Tungsten 3 of 9 Bar Code or Tungsten 128 Bar Code) is selected as a page-level bar code option for the form type. For details, see Create Form Type Window - Page Level Bar Code Tab.

If neither condition is met, bar codes are not detected as pages are scanned, nor are they saved to the database.

Always enable bar code recognition when scanning

Bar codes are recognized on every page scanned or imported in the Scan or Quality Control modules, regardless of the document separation method or recognition profile selected.

When you select this option, the Edit button becomes available, which you can use to display the Recognition Profiles window.
