Using Tungsten Automation PDF Text Under Image or Tungsten Automation PDF Image + Text

The Tungsten Automation PDF Text Under Image and Tungsten Automation PDF Image + Text output options both produce a PDF file that contains bitmaps for images and text for data that has been converted to character strings. The resulting files are smaller than image-only files and can be searched as if they were text documents.

The following procedure assumes that your document and batch classes already exist. If not, you can make these selections while creating new classes.

  1. Open the Document Class Properties window.
    1. Click the PDF tab.
    2. Select Enable Tungsten Automation PDF generation.
    3. Select a dictionary.
    4. On the Recognition Profiles list, select Tungsten Automation PDF Text Under Image or Tungsten Automation PDF Image + Text.
    5. Optionally select Skip first page of each document.
    6. Click OK.
  2. Open the Batch Class Properties window.
    1. Click the Queues tab.
    2. Add the Tungsten Automation PDF Generator and other required modules.
    3. Click OK.
  3. Open the Export Connector window.
    1. Select the Tungsten Capture Text export connector.

      You can select any connector that supports Tungsten Automation PDF output, including your custom export connector. The following steps are based on the standard Tungsten Capture Text export connector.

    2. Click the Document Storage tab.
    3. Select the Export Tungsten Automation PDF files option.
    4. Select an export folder.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click Close.
  4. Publish the batch class.
