Use this window to specify performance preferences for scanning.

Update database after scanning each document

Select this option to have the Scan module update the batch database after scanning each document. This activity creates a minor delay that is not noticeable with most scanners (or on faster systems). This is the default and the best choice for most situations.

Update database after scanning has completed

Select this option to delay updating the batch database until scanning is completed. This option eliminates the delay imposed by updating the database after each document. This is not significant unless you have a very fast scanner and/or a very slow system.
