Use this window to specify performance preferences when scanning.

Update database after scanning each document

Updates the batch database after scanning each document. This activity creates a minor delay that is not noticeable with most scanners (or on faster systems). This is the default and the best choice for most situations.

Update database after scanning has completed

Delays updating the batch database until scanning is completed, eliminating the delay imposed by updates after each document. This is not significant unless you have a very fast scanner and/or a very slow system.
