Creating and Loading Tungsten VRS Profiles

Tungsten Capture can automatically load your Tungsten VRS-ready scan profile when you scan with the Scan and/or Quality Control modules. For the profile to be automatically loaded, it must have the same name as your batch class.

Tungsten VRS scan profiles contain advanced scanner settings that are stored separately from the standard Tungsten Capture scan profiles. When creating or opening a batch, if a Tungsten VRS scan profile exists with the same name as the batch class, it is automatically loaded. This occurs even if no standard Tungsten Capture scan profile exists with the batch class name.

The following procedures explain how to create and load a Tungsten VRS scan profile from Tungsten Capture. You can also create and load Tungsten VRS profiles from your Tungsten VRS software. For more information, see the Tungsten VRS documentation.

You can create a Tungsten VRS scan profile from the Administration, Scan, or Quality Control modules.

  1. From the Scan Source list, select your Tungsten VRS source device.
  2. On the Scan panel, next to Scan Source, click the Edit Scan Source Settings icon.

    The Source Properties window appears.

  3. Click Advanced.

    The VRS Interactive Viewer appears. Note that the available settings depend on the selected scan source.

  4. Use the Tungsten VRS Adjustment Controls to specify Tungsten VRS scanner settings.
  5. On the Scan panel, next to the Scan Profile list, click Save.

    The New Profile window appears.

  6. Assign the batch class name as your new profile name.
  7. Click OK.

    Your new profile becomes the active profile in the list.

  8. Close the VRS Interactive Viewer and return to the Source Properties window.
  9. Edit your source properties and click OK.

Loading a Tungsten VRS Scan Profile When Creating or Opening a Batch

  1. From the Scan Source list, select your Tungsten VRS source.
  2. Start the scan operation.

    Tungsten Capture automatically loads any scan profiles (standard and/or Tungsten VRS profiles) with the same name as the batch class. Once the batch is open, you can select different scanner settings.

Loading a Tungsten VRS Scan Profile After a Batch is Open

  1. With a batch open, on the Scan Settings tab, click the settings launcher.
  2. From the VRS Interactive Viewer, select Profile and then Manage scan profiles.

    The Manage scan profiles window appears.

  3. Select a profile and click Load.
  4. Click Close.
