Using packages to import and export destinations and shortcuts
The packages feature enables you export destinations and shortcuts you select to another Kofax Front Office Server installation. The destinations and shortcuts with their settings are packaged into a .zip file that you can then import into the other Kofax Front Office Server installation.
Creating a package
Create the package and associate the destinations and shortcuts for export.

On the
Navigation panel, select
Settings and click the
Packages tab.
The Packages tab appears a list of packages that have been created.

Click
Create.
The General tab appears.

Create the package by doing the following:
- On the General tab, type a name and, optionally, a description.
- On the Associated Destinations, select the destinations that you want to add to the package.
- On the Associated Shortcuts, select the shortcuts that you want to add to the package.

Click
Save.
The package is saved, and the Packages tab appears with the new package in the list.
Exporting a package
Exporting a package saves it as a .zip file. This .zip file can then be imported into another Kofax Front Office Server installation.

On the
Navigation panel, select
Settings and click the
Packages tab.
The Packages tab appears a list of packages that have been created.

Click the package you want to export.
The General tab appears.
- Click Export.

When you are prompted, save the .zip file.
By default, the .zip file is named <package name>.zip and saved in your local Downloads folder.
Importing a package
Import a package to add the destinations and shortcuts.

On the
Navigation panel, select
Settings and click the
Packages tab.
The Packages tab appears.
- Click Import.

In the window appears, click
Browse and select the .zip file for the package you want to import. Then click
OK.
The package appears with General, Selected Destinations, and Selected Shortcuts.

On the
General tab, select what to do with the destinations and shortcuts that already exist.

Replace the existing destinations and shortcuts that already exist with the ones in the package.

Give the imported destinations and shortcuts new names.

Do not import them.

On the
Selected Destinations and
Selected Shortcuts, review the destinations and shortcuts that will be imported.
You can exclude destinations and shortcuts from being imported. Select the destination or shortcut under Associated and click the following button:

Click
Import.
The Packages tab appears.

On the
Navigation panel, select
Destinations or
Shortcuts.
Verify that the destinations or shortcuts you imported are present and have the desired settings.
