Add resources for simulation

When you add a resource to a simulation, the productivity set for the simulation overrides the productivity of the resource. If a resource or resource group is unavailable for taking up tasks for a certain period of time, for example, when a resource is on leave, you can define unavailability schedules for that resource or resource group in the simulator.

  1. On the Simulation page, consume the resources or groups to use.
  2. Select the resource or group.
  3. In the Properties panel, click Settings Extended Properties

    The Extended Properties page appears.

  4. In the Productivity box, enter or select a productivity value for this resource.
  5. To schedule times when the resource is unavailable, in the Schedule group configure the following:
    1. In the Start Time box, enter or select the date and time from when the resource will be unavailable.
    2. In the Duration box, enter the duration for which the resource will be unavailable.
      The start time and duration for the unavailability schedule must be within the simulation duration.
    3. Click Add Add.
    4. Configure more schedules if the resource is going to be unavailable for multiple periods of time.
