Create milestone triggers

Create a milestone trigger in one of the following ways:

  • Using an Escalation Map

  • Creating an Alert Task

Use an escalation map

Use an escalation map to create a specific job to deal with the milestone trigger.

  1. On the Milestones page, click Triggers.
  2. Click Trigger for Type.
  3. Consume the process to use as an escalation process in the Type box.
    Note Each time a trigger is consumed by a milestone, an additional row is added.
  4. Specify the target duration in days, hours, minutes and seconds for trigger to execute:

    • To execute the trigger later than the milestone due date, select "+". For example, to execute trigger three days later than the milestone due date, select "+" and set 3 days as target duration.

    • To execute the trigger before the milestone due date, select "-"

    • To execute the trigger when the milestone due date is met, do not set any target duration and keep the value 0.

  5. Click Add Add.

Create an alert task

Create an alert task to appear on the work queue of the selected resource to notify escalations. See Create an alert task.
