Using the Local Client

To start the Local Client, do either of the following:

  • From the Start menu, select Kofax Front Office Server and then Thin Client.

  • Open a web browser and enter the following address:

    http://localhost/Kofax/KFS/ThinClient/

The Log On screen appears. Enter your user name and password to log on.

The Local Client works the same way as running the Thin Client from the server. When the connection to the server is available, work you perform in the Local Client is automatically updated on the server at the following times:

  • When you first log on.

  • When you submit a job.

  • Every five minutes.

  • When you click Refresh button where it appears.

If the connection is unavailable, you can submit jobs that do not require validation. The job is sent to the server when the connection is restored.

When the connection is unavailable, you cannot submit a job that requires validation. You can prepare a job by entering data in the fields, but click Save instead of Submit. The job is saved in the Active Jobs List. When the connection is restored, submit the job from the Active Jobs List. When the window appears with the fields, press Tab in each field to validate the data and then submit the job.

To view the status of the connection and when data was last synchronized, click About.
