Splitting jobs

You can split a job into two on the Create/Edit Jobs screen. The pages you select are moved to a new job for the same shortcut and deleted from the current job. You can change the shortcut for the new job as shown in Changing the shortcut for a job.

To send pages directly to a shortcut without splitting the job, submit the pages as shown in Submitting selected pages. If you plan to edit those pages before sending them, it is better to include them in a split job, modify the pages, and then submit the job.

  1. Select the pages or files to move to the new job by doing one of the following:
    • Click between the pages or eDoc icons where you want the job split. A dashed line appears where you click, as shown in the following figure.

To remove the dashed line, click a page or eDoc icon.

    • Select one or more pages or eDoc icons by clicking them. Selected pages have a thicker border.

To remove the selection, click the selected page or eDoc icon again. To remove selections from all pages and eDoc icons, click between pages to set the dashed line indicator.

  2. On the toolbar, click Split.

    The following happens:

    • If you click between pages, all pages and eDoc icons after the line move to the new job and are deleted from the current job.

    • If you select pages, the selected pages and eDoc icons move to the new job and are deleted from the current job.
