Validate text fields
Text fields can contain words, numbers, or a combination of both. When the content in a text field does not match a
validation rule, it is marked with an error icon,
indicating that you need to validate that field.
For example, a text field may contain a date such as "1 Jamuary 2004," which is invalid because of an OCR misread. This field is marked with an error icon to notify you that it needs validation. Once the error is corrected and validated, the error icon is no longer displayed.
You can use your mouse to validate a field by selecting text on the image. Alternatively, you can use your keyboard or a combination of both.
If you edit a text field and do not validate it straight away, the contents of that field are italic when you navigate to a different field. This enables you to continue editing other fields without losing track of what is already edited.
- Use your mouse or the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to navigate to the desired field you want to validate.
- Use the image in Document Viewer to find and zoom to the invalid field location.
-
Use your mouse to select the correct value on the image by clicking on one or more words while holding the Ctrl key.
Alternatively, click and drag to select the desired text or type a value into the field.
You can also hold down the Shift key by clicking, holding, and moving your mouse to pan around the image.
-
Press Enter to validate the field.
If the field is valid, it turns green on the image, and the next invalid field or table cell automatically loads.
