Fast Scan - Outlook

With Fast Scan, use a predefined profile to quickly scan and save document images or OCR text to a file attached to your Outlook email message.

  1. Place your documents in the scanner.
  2. Start Microsoft Outlook if necessary.
  3. Create or open an email message, and select the Kofax VRS tab.
  4. From the Profile list, select the predefined profile that is appropriate for the documents to be scanned:
    • Color Only
    • Color or Black & White
    • Black & White Only
  5. Click Fast Scan.
    A progress bar appears as scanning is started.
  6. When the Save Scanned Document dialog box appears, assign a file name and file type to the attachment that contains the scanned documents. See Save Scanned Document.
  7. Complete the email message and click Send.
    When using Fast Scan, keep in mind that an error may occur if an attachment exceeds the maximum file size supported by your email server.
