Straightening a Scanned Image
Use Straighten to manually deskew or rotate an image if Auto Deskew or Auto Rotate is not effective during the scanning process. With Straighten, you rotate the image in 90-degree increments or adjust it in small increments.
After straightening an image, you can also crop it.
The Straighten setting is available only while the Adjust Quality On Every Page or Adjust Quality On Warnings operating mode is active.
- On the Image Quality tab, in the Manual Adjustments group, click Straighten.
-
Do one of the following:
-
Use the angle adjustment dial and/or the fine angle adjustment slider to straighten the image.
-
Angle adjustment dial: Sets the angle size to straighten the image. Drag the dial to the position of the angle you want to apply, or click one of the compass points to rotate in 90-degree increments.
-
Fine angle adjustment slider: Applies small adjustments to the angle in two-degree increments.
-
Enter a value in the Angle box.
The Angle box setting reflects the changes you make with the angle adjustment controls, and vice versa. Your changes are applied immediately to the image in the viewing area.
-
- Click Reset (next to the Angle setting) to cancel any angle adjustments and restore the setting that was active when you opened the Straighten window.
