These settings contain a list of rules for substitution values in an extracted or user-entered text field. Substitution rules are assigned to text fields via the Substitution Rule setting in the Settings > IP Configuration > Capture Profiles > Field Settings. These settings are applied during export, and not during extraction or validation. It is possible to add multiple entries for these settings. As a result, the settings are displayed in a table.

The following column settings are available.

Substitution Rule

The read-only substitution rule ID.

Original

The segment or string of text that is replaced.

Replace

The segment or string that replaces the Original text if found in the string.

The following buttons are available at the bottom of the window.

Edit

Opens a selected entry in the table so that you can make changes as needed.

Click to open the Substitution Rule - Edit window.

Add

Adds an entry to the table.

Click to open the Substitution Rule - New window.

Copy

Makes a copy of the selected table entry so that you can make a new entry to the table based on the copy.

Click to copy the selected table entry and open the Substitution Rule - New window.

Delete

Click to remove the selected entry from the table, but after confirmation only.
