The following header fields are trainable and are supported by extraction online learning.

When Kofax AP Agility is first installed, the out-of-the-box extraction of the trainable fields is not perfect. However, because these fields are trainable, the extraction of these fields can improve over time. This happens automatically whenever a Validation user makes changes to one of the trainable fields. That document with the modified fields is added to the extraction training set so that the next time a document from that vendor is processed, the extraction results improve. Subsequent training documents are collected until extraction for that vendor is consistent and successful.

For example, an invoice for a new Vendor is processed, but it has the Invoice Date and Invoice Number in the top-left corner. All other documents that are successfully processed have these fields in the upper-right corner. During extraction, both Invoice Date and Invoice Number are successfully extracted, but their location means that their confidence is low. As a result, this document is routed to Validation so that a user can review these fields. After the Validation user has confirmed these fields, that document is copied to the extraction training set. The next time a document is processed for that vendor, it is extracted with more confidence. This is because training documents are used during extraction to improve results.
