Publish Window

Use this window to publish batch classes or track batch class versions. You can also validate a batch class without publishing or disabling it.

Tip You can resize the Publish window, or click a column heading to sort the Batch Class or Last Published list in ascending or descending order. Display preferences for the Publish window are retained on a per user basis.

Batch Class

Select the batch class to validate or publish.

Batch Class

Lists the names of batch classes that are available to validate or publish.

Last Published

Lists the most recent publish date for each batch class on the list.

Cancel Publish / Validate operation if error occurs

Select this check box to automatically cancel a Publish or Validate operation if an error occurs. Upon cancellation, the Results box indicates how many batch classes were published successfully prior to the error.

Validate button

Validates the selected batch class. The validation process runs stringent checks on your batch class selections. The results of the validation process, including the number of successfully validated batch classes, appear in the Results box.

Validating your batch classes is a good way to check selections as you create your batch class. Validation might be especially useful if you are editing a batch class and are not ready to make it available for use. You can validate the batch class as you make changes to troubleshoot possible problems.

If you are validating two or more batch classes, a progress box lists their names. To stop the validation operation, click Cancel.

Publish button

Publishes the selected batch class. The publishing process checks your batch class selections. The results of the process, including the number of successfully published batch classes, appear in the Results box. If errors are found, they are listed in the Results box and the batch class is not available for creating batches. Correct the problems and republish. Once the batch class is successfully published, you can create new batches based on this batch class.

If you are publishing two or more batch classes, a progress box lists their names. To stop the Publish operation, click Cancel; in this case, the batch in progress is completed and any waiting batches are not published.

Disable button

Disables the batch class. You cannot base a new batch on a disabled batch class.

Select All button

Selects all the batch classes in the list.

Results

The Results box lists the number of successfully validated or published batch classes, along with error and warning messages related to missing or invalid settings.
