Creating a Batch
Create a new batch from the Scan module with the Create Batch window.
- On the Home tab, in the Batch group, click Create.
- From the Create Batch window - General tab, select a batch class from the drop-down list of batch classes.
- Change the priority level for the batch. You can select any value from 1 to 10, with 1 being the highest priority.
-
The name is based on the batch name format, which is defined in
the
Batch Class Properties window -
Batch Naming tab. You can enter a different
name or edit the existing one. The batch name can contain up to 128 characters,
including spaces for the name of the batch. (Leading and trailing spaces are
removed.) The name, which must be unique, is not case-sensitive.
Tip The format of the default batch name (current date and time) is dependent on the system date/time format. To check or change this setting, use Windows Control Panel.
- Enter an 80 character or less description for the batch.
- Enter the Pages per document, Documents per batch, and Pages per batch. Pages per document is only available if the batch class is set to Fixed Pages separation.
- If batch totaling is specified for the batch, enter the appropriate batch totals from the Totals tab. You are not able to create the batch until you enter the values.
-
If endorsing is specified for the batch, check the initial value
for the endorsing counter from the
Scan
tab. Enter a new initial value. If you do not enter a new value, the value
already assigned is used as the initial value.
Note If endorsing is specified but the selected source device does not support it, a warning appears before the batch is actually created. Endorsing for the batch is disabled, but you are able to create the batch anyway. Contact your system administrator for more information.
-
To override the separation and form identification profile
associated with the batch class, select another profile from the list on the
Scan
tab.
This setting is available only if the administrator selects
Allow selecting separation method at scan time
for your user profile. - Click OK to create an empty batch. You might want to do this if you want to change your source device before you scan or import your batch.
- Click Scan to scan or import your batch.
