Database Utility - Database - Statistical Database Tab
Use this tab to set preferences for the database where statistical data for User Tracking is stored. You can store statistical data in the same database where system data resides, which is the default, or maintain statistical data in a separate database. You can move statistical data from the system database to a separate database, or vice versa.
Storage Options
Set your preference for storing User Tracking data.
Use system database: Select this option to store User Tracking data in the same database where other data resides.
Use separate database: Select this option to store User Tracking data in a separate database to help minimize performance issues that may occur if the database is large.
Database configuration
When
Use separate database
is selected, you must specify your database type and provide proper credentials.
- SQL Server
- If you select SQL Server, enter the name of the server and the database.
- Create new database
- Select this check box to create a new database for tracking statistical data.
- Authentication
- Select one of the following authentication options:

SQL Server authentication using login ID and password: If selected, provide the credentials for the user who has permission to create or alter database objects.

Windows authentication using the network login ID: If selected, the database access is based on the Windows login for the user who has permission to create or alter database objects.

- Oracle

When
Use separate database
is selected, the database configuration requires that the Oracle .NET data provider be installed on all Kofax Capture workstations.You must specify your Oracle database service provider and the proper credentials for a user who has permission to create or alter database objects.
- IBM DB2

Use separate database
is selected, the IBM DB2.NET data provider must be installed on all Kofax Capture workstations.You must specify your IBM DB2 database server, database name, and the proper credentials for a user who has permission to create or alter database objects.
Apply
When you click Apply, your settings are saved. When moving from one database to another, you are prompted to set additional preferences. See Database Utility - Move Options.
