Changing the Start Number for the Endorser
Kofax Capture has an endorsing feature for imprinting short text strings on hard copy documents as they pass through the scanner. It also supports an annotation feature that superimposes the text string on the document images as they are processed. These features can be used separately or together.
You can specify endorsing and/or annotation settings as part of a batch class definition.
The endorsing text string consists of a short prefix plus a numeric
counter. The prefix is fixed: It cannot be changed without changing the batch
class definition. The counter value is dynamic. It increments or resets as
specified in the batch class definition. It is also
sticky
across batches; that is, the counter value for a new
batch is based on the last counter value for the previous batch.
If the endorsing/annotation feature is enabled for a batch class, you can change the initial counter value for a batch when you create or rescan the batch or when you view the batch properties. Use the Create Batch window - Scan tab or the Batch Properties window - Scan tab.
- To display the Create Batch window, on the Home tab, in the Batch group, click Create.
-
To display the
Batch Properties window, open a batch and do
one of the following:
-
On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Properties.
-
From the Batch Contents tree view, select the batch name. Then right-click and select Properties.
