Comment options

Specify the appearance of text box comments in your PDF documents by selecting File > Options > Comment.

  • Select Make comment tools persistent to keep the selected comment tool active after use. If this check box is cleared, the default tool activates after a comment tool is used. This check box is selected by default.

    Set the default tool at File > Options > General > Miscellaneous.

  • Click Reset Comment Defaults to restore delivery-time settings.

  • In the Text Box Default Font area, select a font name, size and an underline style from the drop-down lists. Select a font color and specify combinations of other text attributes such as Bold, Italic, Superscript, Subscript and Strike through.

  • Under Text Box Default Alignment, select Left, Center, Right or Justified alignment for your text in comment boxes.

Specify the behavior of comments in your PDF documents by selecting File > Options > Comment > Commenting.

  • Always use Log-in Name for Author name: Use the Windows (or Windows domain) user name as Author name for comments. Clear this check box to customize the Author name freely in annotation and markup object properties.

  • Create new pop-ups aligned to the edge of the document: Automatically snap new notes to the outer horizontal edge of the page; their positions can be changed.

  • Copy encircled text into Drawing comment pop-ups: Copy all text covered by a new Rectangle, Oval, Polygon or Cloud drawing comment into the pop-up text box of the objects.

  • Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, and Underline comment pop-ups: Automatically copy all text marked with Highlight, Cross-Out, or Underline tools into the pop-up text box of the objects.

  • Automatically open comment pop-ups except when highlighting: Automatically open all new comment objects in pop-ups, but keep new Highlight pop-ups minimized.

  • Automatically open comment pop-ups when highlighting: Automatically open all new comment objects in pop-ups.
