Change page view size

Use tools on the View bar or select tools on the View tab of the ribbon to resize the page view.

Actual size

  1. Select 100% in the Zoom to list on the View tab, or in the View bar percentage control or select Actual Size in its shortcut menu, or press Ctrl+1.

Defined Size

  1. Select a percentage value in View > Zoom to or in the View bar percentage control.

The page image is resized whenever the Document Panel is resized.

Fit page

Proceed with any of the following steps to fit the view with the whole page.

  • Click the arrow of the percentage tool on the View bar, then select Fit Page.
  • Select the Fit Page (Fit Page icon) tool on the View bar. Keyboard access is by Ctrl+Alt+P.
  • Select View > Page Fit Options and select Fit Page (Fit Page icon) from the drop-down list (or press Ctrl + 0) for the same sizing, but with the ability to select the display method independently.
    1. Optionally, use the neighboring Scroll Options tool and select a display method: Single Page, Continuous, Facing (two pages at a time) or Continuous Facing.

This ensures all page content is visible without scrolling. It also displays one page at a time. With this option, pages are resized independently, so if you move to a different-sized page, the magnification will change automatically.

The page image is resized whenever the Document Panel is resized.

Fit width

Proceed with any of the following steps to fit the view with the width of the page:

  • Click the arrow of the percentage tool on the View bar, then select Fit Width.
  • Select the Fit Width (Fit Width icon) tool on the View bar. Keyboard access is by Ctrl+Alt+W.

This ensures all page content is visible without the need to scroll horizontally. It displays pages continuously, based on the widest page in the document.

  • Select View > Page Fit Options and select Fit Width from the drop-down list (or press Ctrl+2).

This fits pages to the width of the document window with a different scrolling option.

The page image is resized whenever the Document Panel is resized.

Fit visible

  • Click the arrow of the percentage tool on the View bar, then select Fit Visible.
  • Select View > Page Fit Options and select Fit Visible from the drop-down list (or press Ctrl+3).

This is the same as Fit Width except that it shows not the page width but the width of the visible content, so it excludes most of the vertical margin areas.

The page image is resized whenever the Document Panel is resized.

Fit height

  • Click the arrow of the percentage tool on the View bar, then select Fit Height.
  • Select View > Page Fit Options and select Fit Height from the drop-down list (or press Ctrl+4).
