Troubleshooting: Batch name is "{BARCODE}"

Cause

For a batch in SCAN CLIENT, if you assigned the name "{BARCODE}", but no regular batch name can be read from the first sheet of the batch. Possible reasons:

  • Barcode detection is not configured correctly (see instructions).

  • Splitting is not configured correctly (see instructions).

  • The batch was scanned without a batch cover sheet.

  • The barcode on the batch cover sheet was not detected.

Solution

Check the regular expression that is used for batch splitting. If this is correct, check the quality of the batch cover sheet.

How to type a regular expression is beyond the scope of this help. However, it is described on Wikipedia, for example.

If the barcodes on the batch cover sheet are not detected during the scan process, it might be necessary to clean the scanner's lens. Then rescan the batch with the same cover sheet.
