Adjusting the database connection

Use this procedure after installing SCAN CLIENT:

  1. When SCAN CLIENT starts for the first time, database connection cannot be established, and an error message is displayed. Click OK to dismiss the message.

  2. Select Options > Configuration.

  3. In the Configuration dialog, select Database > SCAN CLIENT.

  4. Select the database type.

  5. Specify the database server, as well as how to log on to it (including the user name and password, if needed).

  6. Specify the name of the SCAN CLIENT database.

  7. Click Check connection to test the connection.

    If the connection fails, ensure that the database was created, and that the required client software for Oracle or IBM DB2 databases was correctly installed. (For Microsoft SQL Server no additional client installation is required.) See installation guide for details.

    If problems persist, please contact a database administrator.

  8. After connection is successful, click OK to close the dialog.
