Troubleshooting: "Double feed detected"

Cause

Some scanners (such as ScaMax 401 CD and ScaMax 422 CD) have double-feed sensors that detect if more than one sheet is pulled into the scanner at the same time. If this happens, the scan process stops and SCAN CLIENT displays a "Double feed detected" message. A similar message is displayed on the scanner's display panel.

Solution

  1. Check the last two sheets in the scanner's paper output tray and ensure that they are displayed in the Batch viewer.

  2. Place any sheets that are not displayed in the scanner’s document feeder again.

  3. In some cases, if there is a Sheet counter box at the bottom of the screen, you will need to click in the box and adjust the value.

  4. Click Continue scanning (or press F8).

  5. You are prompted to confirm that you can continue scanning the selected batch. (In case of a double feed, the current batch is still selected in SCAN CLIENT.) Click Yes. Scanning continues.
