Editing index values

Index values are stored in the metadata (batch XML) of the element they are associated with, and are available to downstream processes.

Add or edit index values in one of two ways:

Manually within SCAN CLIENT, using the Index viewer.

Manual indexing must be activated in the scan profile. (Select the scan profile and select Edit > Edit index values manually in the Scan profile management dialog.) Then you can use the Index viewer to add or edit index values.
Via a custom component, configured in the scan profile that generated the batch.

If a custom component is configured for indexing, then there is no manual indexing using SCAN CLIENT. The custom component must provide a dialog for editing the index values. To access that custom dialog, click the Add new index button to signal to the custom component that you want to edit a value pair or add a new index value.

To edit index values using the Index viewer

Select View > Index data.
If Batch properties is also selected, ensure that the Index viewer tab is selected in the viewer. (The Batch properties viewer and the Index viewer share a single window.)
Click Add new index to add a keyword/value pair.
Click in the columns to edit the values.
