The Configuration dialog: Database settings

Select the database provider

The type of database to be used with SCAN CLIENT.

Insert name of the server

The name of the database server.

Set login type

Select one of the security types:

• Windows integrated security – uses Windows authentication.

• Specific user name and password – a specific user name and password that SCAN CLIENT will always use (no matter which user is using the program) to connect to the databases.

Set the database name

The name of the database.

Check connection

Tests the connection.

If the connection fails, ensure that the database was created, and that the required client software for Oracle or IBM DB2 databases was correctly installed. (For Microsoft SQL Server no additional client installation is required.) See installation guide for details.
