The Configuration dialog: Logging > File system settings

ClosedTo access this dialog:

  1. Select Options > Configuration.

  2. In the Configuration dialog, select Logging > File system.

Note: You must be an administrator to access these settings.

Use these settings to adjust logging preferences:

File logging

Select this option to use the Windows file system logging (log to file).

File name

A file name for the log.

Directory

Where the log file is to be saved.

Format – XML

Uses XML format.

Format – none

Logs to a plain text file.

Log level errors

Only errors are recorded.

Log level warnings

Errors and warnings are recorded.

Log level information

Errors, warnings, and other information is recorded. This gives you the highest level of detail.

Log scan and process performance to a separate file

Records scanning, processing, and database connection speeds in a separate log file. Only available if Log level information is selected.

File name: PerfScanClient_Date.log

This setting generates many log messages and should only be used for troubleshooting in connection with support cases. A warning message is displayed each time SCAN CLIENT is started.
