The Thumbnail viewer

To access this dialog:

Use this viewer to browse in and edit batches, and to keep your eye on images during scanning.

Opens the Batch viewer.

Goes to the previous sheet.

Goes to the next sheet.

Switches the front and back pages.

Deletes the selected item. You are prompted to confirm. Only available for open batches.

Closes the selected batch (individual release).

Updates the display. All batches are reloaded from the output folders. If the scanner is not reachable at the time of the refresh, the system tries to reinitialize it.

There is also a context menu. This means that you can right-click in a batch to access commands for correcting errors and restructuring batches.

When you make changes in batches, they may apply to individual images or to entire sheets. This depends on how the scope was specified.

Note that structure-defining elements retain their properties even after moving. This means that a batch is restructured automatically if you move a structure-defining element.

It is not possible to select documents, batches, and sheets at the same time.

Tips

  • You can adjust what is displayed in this viewer. See Configuring the scan display.

  • You can adjust the display – see instructions.

  • If you configured blank page detection in your scan profile, a symbol () is superimposed on the pages detected as empty. You may also be able to mark these pages as not blank, or delete them, if the Blank Page Remover is set up.

  • You can assign shortcuts for moving between pages and for viewing/hiding the Thumbnail viewer, for example. Document separation, too, can be done using shortcut combinations. See Adjusting keyboard shortcuts.

  • Like all SCAN CLIENT panels, this one can be resized, undocked, moved, or hidden. It can also be used on a touchscreen-enabled monitor for ergonomic use at the workplace.
