Message Connector storage

Message Connector stores all messages and files received from various sources in its internal storage before they are imported to Kofax Capture.

The storage is managed automatically. Files and messages that are imported into Kofax Capture are marked for deletion in Message Connector and are removed when the storage is full.

Files and messages that could not be imported to Kofax Capture are managed manually. See Manage failed messages manually.

The storage is divided into multiple folders. Click a folder to display its contents.

  • Inbound Status > Active: Lists the active documents, that is, documents that have been received by Message Connector but not yet delivered to Kofax Capture. When the "archive to folder" function is activated, documents remain in this folder until the archiving is completed.

  • Inbound Status > Active > Failures: Lists the documents that have been received by Message Connector but could not be delivered to Kofax Capture. Documents appear in this folder only if the Keep Failed configuration option is selected.

If the Keep Failed option is not selected and archive to folder function is activated, then the documents remain in this (Inbound Status > Active > Failures) folder only when archiving is in progress. Documents are removed when archiving is complete.

    • Documents appear in this folder only if the Keep Failed configuration option is selected.

    • If the Keep Failed option is not selected and the “archive to folder” function is activated, then the documents remain in this folder only when archiving is in progress and until they are handled manually by an operator (reactivated or deleted). Documents are removed when archiving is complete.

If this folder is not monitored by an operator, the storage may become full, and the processing of documents may stop.

  • Inbound Status > Processed: Lists the documents delivered to Kofax Capture. If Keep Failed is clear, this folder also contains documents that permanently failed to get imported into Kofax Capture. Processed documents are automatically deleted from the storage when space for active messages is needed.

  • Inbound Status > Processed > Failed: Lists the documents that permanently failed to get imported into Kofax Capture (Keep Failed is cleared). Like all processed documents, they are automatically deleted from the storage, when space for active documents is needed.

  • Outbound Status > Active: Lists test fax messages that are queued for sending or are currently being sent.

  • Outbound Status > Processed: Lists test fax messages sent out by Message Connector, as well as messages that could not be sent.

  • Outbound Status > Processed > Failed: Lists test fax messages that could not be sent.
