Import MSG and EML files from folder
When you import MSG and EML files from a folder, these email messages can also be treated as received emails. When a MSG/EML file is treated as a received email:
- The metadata (such as originator, recipient, subject, date) are derived from the EML/MSG file instead of the input file. This metadata can also be used for configuring KC Plug-In rules.
- Similar to the received emails, content parts of the EML/MSG are always extracted (even if the Extract EML files option is not selected). For example, converting to TIFF, adding a message header, importing only body or attachments.
In the following scenarios, imported EML/MSG file is treated as a received mail:
-
When a single EML or MSG file is imported and the Import trigger file option is not selected.
-
When a single EML or MSG file is imported without a trigger file.
In the following scenarios, imported EML/MSG file is treated as files on disk storage:
-
When a single EML or MSG file is imported and the Import trigger file option is selected.
-
When two or more EML or MSG files are imported.
