Document Specifications box

When selecting the New and Scan functions in PSIsafe Desktop, the Document Specifications box appears. This box contains the same information as the Filer window, with a few differences noted below.

  • Managers

The Managers sidebar replaces the incoming document panel on the Document Specifications window. The content managers configuration in PSIsafe Management determines how PSIsafe Desktop handles the previewing and editing of the particular extension that you want to file. For example, a PDF file will likely fall under an Adobe manager. You can configure managers in the Document Settings > Managers section of PSIsafe Desktop Management.

  • Details tab

If not automatically selected through your import or capture method, you can select the tab from the list. To configure tabs, go to Management > Cabinets > Tabs. You can see tabs on the Document List of the Cabinets browser.

Templates determine the file types (document managers), preconfigured document indexes (records), and workflow options for a document, and can be restricted to repositories, cabinets, users, groups, and tabs. For more information, see Configure Templates in the Tungsten PSIsafeAdministrator Help.

Add record: Formerly called "Naming Segments," this function allows you to attach a new level of metadata directly to documents. You can search and use indexes on documents to synchronize and manage relevant information in a variety of ways. See Set up Document Indexes in the Tungsten PSIsafe Administrator Help for more information.

Select the Continuous Add check box to add one record after another simultaneously until the list is complete.

  • Options tab

The Sensitivity, Retention, Keywords, and Scheduling options are the same as in the standard Filer Window. For more information, see Document Filer window. Fill out the relevant information (if necessary, you can use Options data with default settings in many cases).
