PSIsafe DocuSign

With the PSIsafe DocuSign integration, you can generate DocuSign envelopes.. You can bundle existing PSIsafe Desktop documents into an envelope or choose to create a new document based on a pre-defined DocuSign template. PSIsafe Desktop tracks the envelope's progress, and once the envelope is completed, you can download and file the new signed document directly through PSIsafe Desktop.

Initial configuration and prerequisites

PSIsafe DocuSign access requires installation of the PSIsafe Desktop x64 server service and the PSIsafe API.

For on-premise installations, the PSIsafe Desktop URI for your OpenAPI installation must be specified in PSIsafe Management under System > Settings > Options > Paths. For more information on configuring DocuSign for your On-Premise PSIsafe Desktop installation as a PSIsafe administrator, see DocuSign in the Tungsten PSIsafe Administrator Help.

After confirming that your PSIsafe Desktop installation has all the required modules and that the administrator configuration is complete, you need to confirm your connected User within the configuration settings, then move on to granting DocuSign the proper consent within the PSIsafe Desktop client.

Confirm user consent

To start using DocuSign, you have to perform a one-time "grant consent" process. In some cases, this process may have been performed by your PSIsafe administrator during the initial configuration process. Otherwise, to perform the consent process, select the Grant Consent option under the DocuSign menu. Note that this dialog is also displayed if you select any of the other DocuSign operation within PSIsafe Desktop when consent has not yet been granted.

The User Consent Process dialog appears. Click Grant Consent. This redirects you to the DocuSign web application login screen. After logging in to DocuSign, you are directed to a web page that enables you to grant consent. Click Accept, and the web browser is redirected to the consent completion web page assigned to the integration.

If consent has already been granted in DocuSign, you do see the Accept/Cancel page. You are redirected to the consent completion web page assigned to the integration.

Close the web browser and click Grant Complete on the DocuSign User Consent Process dialog box. All DocuSign functionality is now available.

Send existing PSIsafe Desktop documents to DocuSign

To send documents to DocuSign, select one or more documents within the same document tab. Right-click the preferred documents and select DocuSign - Send, or select Tools > DocuSign - Send. You can also drag multiple documents to the DocuSign area on the speed bar.

The Send Documents for Signature window appears. If needed, you can drag additional documents from the same document tab into the Selected documents grid.

To remove a document, select it and press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Enter an Envelope name for the new envelope. To speed along the envelope creation process, you can select one of the DocuSign templates you have configured with your account.

To generate a draft DocuSign envelope, click Send Draft Envelope. A confirmation message appears after the envelope has been created and sent to DocuSign.

Sign in to your account in DocuSign to complete envelope creation and to send the envelope to recipients.

Once the envelope has been completed, use the PSIsafe DocuSign Dashboard tab to download and file the resulting document.

Generate a new document from a DocuSign template

DocuSign templates can also have pre-defined document images associated with them.

To generate a new PSIsafe Desktop document based on a DocuSign template, click New on the Document List toolbar and select DocuSign.

Because this operation is tab-specific, this menu item is not available when displaying the "All" tab.

The Create DocuSign Document window appears.

Enter an Envelope name and select a template from the Available DocuSign Templates list. Click Send Draft Envelope. A confirmation message appears once the envelope is created and sent to DocuSign,

Sign in to your account in DocuSign to complete envelope creation and to send the envelope to recipients.

After you complete the envelope, use the PSIsafe DocuSign Dashboard tab to download and file the resulting document.

View envelope status

To view the status of all DocuSign envelopes you have created, select DocuSign > Envelope Status on the main PSIsafe Desktop screen.

The DocuSign tab displays all active DocuSign envelopes that you submitted through PSIsafe Desktop. Envelopes created directly in DocuSign are not included.

Each time you open the dashboard, PSIsafe Desktop queries DocuSign to update the status of each envelope. To perform this action manually, click Refresh.

To prevent PSIsafe Desktop from tracking one or more envelopes, select the check box next to each envelope and press Delete. This action does not remove the envelope in DocuSign; it marks the envelope's entry in the PSIsafe Desktop database to prevent it from being displayed in the dashboard.

If an envelope was created from a collection of existing PSIsafe Desktop documents, click the "+" next to the envelope to open the document view. Right-click a document to view the standard PSIsafe Desktop document data screen for the document.

File an envelope's completed document

Once an envelope's status is set to Completed, the resulting signed document can be filed into PSIsafe Desktop. Select one or more completed envelopes and click File. The document for each envelope is downloaded from DocuSign to the your local computer, and the standard PSIsafe Desktop Filer screen is displayed. The Filer's repository, cabinet, folder and tab are prepopulated based on the original source documents. If needed, you can change these settings within the Filer screen. After filing, the envelope is removed from the dashboard.

If you choose to close the Filer without filing one or more documents, the associated envelopes are unavailable for re-filing for fifteen minutes. If you attempt to re-file them sooner, a notification message appears. This is due to a restriction in the DocuSign API that prevents repetitive calls to the same envelope endpoint within a fifteen-minute span.
