Imageman interface

The PSIsafe Desktop Imageman module is a built-in content editor that allows users to preview and modify certain filetypes, such as TIF and JPG. This following is an in-depth reference for the Imageman module that comes packaged with the PSIsafe Desktop client.

Main toolstrip functions and descriptions

Function Description
Exit Exits the Imageman module.
Save Saves the current document with any edits made.
Print Prints the current document.
Rotate Left / Right Rotates the page of the current document or image left or right.
Scan
  • Insert
  • Append
  • Rescan Page
Scans a new page and does one of the following:
  • Inserts the scanned page before the currently selected page
  • Appends the scanned page after the currently selected page
  • Rescans the currently selected page
Flip Vertical / Horizontal Flips the currently selected page of the document into a vertical or horizontal orientation.
Zoom Level
  • Stretch
  • Fit
  • Fit Width
  • Normal
  • Fit Always
Set the zoom level between standard zoom options depending on your unique preferences:
  • Stretches the content to fit the current width of the preview window.
  • Fits the current content within the width of the preview window.
  • Fits only the width of the current content within the width of the preview window.
  • Displays the content at its default resolution regardless of the size of the preview window.
  • Always displays the current content within the width of the preview window.
Pan Pan around the current page of the document.
ZoomTo Use your mouse after selecting this function to highlight an area and zoom to the selected area.
Delete Page Delete the currently selected page.
Page Navigation Navigate between pages using the arrows, and see the current page number out of total pages.
Zoom In / Out Zoom in or out.

Annotation Toolstrip

Note: You must select Annotations > Enabled and select the checkbox to the left to see this toolbar.

File Menu

  • Save: Saves the current document with any edits made.

  • Print: Prints the current document.

  • Exit: Closes the Imageman window.

Enabled: Select this option and be sure the checkbox is displayed to the left of it to enable the Annotations Toolstrip.

Make Annotations Permanent

  • All Pages: (Shortcut: Ctrl+Q) Makes permanent the annotations you placed on all pages currently within Imageman by rasterizing and flattening the image. Do not use this function if you intent to print without annotations.

  • This Page: Makes permanent the annotations you placed on the currently selected page within Imageman by rasterizing and flattening the image. Do not use this function if you intent to print without annotations.

General Tab

Scanner Settings

Current Scanner: [Currently Selected Scanner] or [Not selected] - This field displays the currently selected scanner from the "Select Scanner" option below.

Select Scanner on Each Scan: Displays the scanner selection window before each scan. Do not use this feature if you plan on using the same scanner for each scan, and want to save time by avoiding this window.

Scan compression for black and white, grayscale, and color Tif files:

  • Uncompressed: Does not compress Tif files of the chosen color type.

  • CCITT Group 4: Compresses scanned Tif files using the CCITT Group 4 compression method.

  • LZW: Compresses scanned Tif files using the LZW compression method.

Scan Engine

  • Leadtools: Most scanner will use this scan engine by default. If you encounter issues scanning, try the Atalasoft scan engine option below. Otherwise, leave this setting as the default Leadtools option.

  • Atalasoft: A specialty scan engine that is required for some scanner manufacturers, such as Epson and Cannon.

Image Settings

Favor Grayscale for 1 bit (Black and White) images: This setting tells the scan engine to favor using the grayscale format instead of 1 bit black and white format when scanning documents whose dominant colors are black and white.

Autosave changes: Autosave the changes you make to an image throughout the editing process, and when you click the "exit" button.

Remember Zoom Location: When scanning a new document and re-entering the Imageman module, the zoom location last used will be automatically loaded.

Zoom Factor: Determine the zoom factor of the Remember Zoom Location function above.

Set Default Annotations: Use this window to set the default annotations used. For more information see Custom stamps and annotations.

Print Settings: Specify the zoom setting that the printer should use when printing the document or page:

  • Normal

  • Fit

  • Fit Width

  • Stretch

  • Fit Always

Show Custom Window before Each Print: Before printing, this will show the custom print window, which allows users to specify each time whether they want to alter the specific print settings that are determined in this setting window. This also allows users to use the "Show Print Dialog" option to bring up the Windows Printer interface for additional customization and driver settings alterations.

Print Annotations: Print the annotations placed on this document or page.

Auto Rotate: Attempt to automatically rotate pages that are not in the default portrait orientation.

Toolstrip Tab

Main Toolstrip Display Style: Choose the display style you prefer for the main toolstrip buttons in the Imageman window, varying between text only, icon only, or both.

Annotation Toolstrip Display Style: Choose the display style you prefer for the annotation toolstrip buttons in the Imageman window, varying between text only, icon only, or both.

Note: You must select Annotations > Enabled and see the checkbox to the left of it in order to see this toolbar.

Annotation Button Visibility: Select which icons you wish to display on the Annotation Toolstrip interface element.
