Connect PSIsafe Books to Intuit QuickBooks
Before starting to use PSIsafe Books, you have to configure the company setup. To do so, in the Company Setup menu, select the Add/Modify QB Company Setup option. The PSIsafe Books Setup window appears.
To connect PSIsafe Books to QuickBooks:
- Enter the setup name to use for this configuration or select an existing company configuration from the list.

Select the cabinets created for
PSIsafe Desktop
and select the appropriate information for vendors and customers.
Select the Use Company Name check box to use the company name field from QuickBooks to fill the name field in the folder indexes.

Select the QuickBooks file to connect to
PSIsafe Books.
This file name must use the same path as the one used to open the file in QuickBooks.
If the file path and file name are incorrect, Books will fail on opening with a message stating that QuickBooks is open from a different application.

Click the
Add or
Update button to save the
setup.
Click Done to exit setup.
If you click Done before clicking Add or Update, all configuration changes will be lost.
QuickBooks security configuration
Intuit QuickBooks requires adjusting application integration settings to allow PSIsafe Books to connect to it. Once a successful connection is made, an automated window appears the first time you attempt to access QuickBooks.
- From the File menu, select .
- Select Integrated Applications.

Open the
Company Preferences.
Ensure that the PSIsafe Books application name appears. To edit, click Properties.

In the
Properties -
PSIsafe Books
window, the following check boxes are selected.

Allow this application to read and modify this company file enables PSIsafe Books to perform lookups and enter information into QuickBooks on your behalf.

Allow this application to login automatically enables PSIsafe Books to access QuickBooks without having the application open.

Optional company setup features
From the File menu, select Company Setup.

Use PO's
If this option is selected, when a bill is entered, the Pick PO's button on the Enter Bill Details window is enabled, and you can associate the bill with a PO.

Save Documents in PDF Format
If this option is selected, when a .TIFF file or scanned image is saved, it is converted to PDF format before placing the document in PSIsafe Desktop.

Display Transaction
Messages
If this option is selected, when a transaction is entered from the entry panel, a message box informs the user the transaction has been filed in QuickBooks and the document is added toPSIsafe Desktop.

Maintenance
This option is used by support to reset various temporary tables in the PSIsafe Books database.
