The Custom components dialog

Use these settings when:

Event filter

Displays the API events that are being used by custom components in the scan profile.

If your custom component is programmed with additional functionality, it can be made available in SCAN CLIENT by mapping that functionality to the API events provided for that purpose, CustomButton1Click – CustomButton10Click.

A custom function that is mapped to one of those events is available in SCAN CLIENT:

  • In the menu bar under Profile-specific functions.

  • As a button in the SCAN CLIENT tool bar.

  • In the context menu (right-click menu) in the Batch viewer and Thumbnail viewer.

Tips for mapping custom functionality:

Check in advance which API events for custom functionality are still available.

If you see one of those events (CustomButton1Click – CustomButton10Click) in the Event filter list, then it is already being used for custom functionality in this scan profile.

Example: When configuring the Exporter for ReadSoft INVOICES you can make additional functionality available in SCAN CLIENT (see Additional function(s) of this custom component in the Exporter for ReadSoft INVOICES dialog). There you can select position 1–10.

Selecting 0 disables the function and keeps it out of SCAN CLIENT.

Tip: You can assign a keyboard shortcut to the custom function.

To find out which custom components are currently subscribed to one of the events, select that event in the list. This filters the list of custom components so that only those that are subscribed to the selected event are displayed.
