Modify a workflow solution in TotalAgility Advanced Studio

You can modify a Workflow solution (a solution created in TotalAgility Advanced Studio >Workflow) using the "Edit in advanced mode" option available on the Workflow designer in TotalAgility Studio. Once the solution is modified, you can switch to the Workflow designer using the "Edit in TotalAgility Studio" option in the TotalAgility Advanced Studio.

The option to switch to the TotalAgility Studio >Workflow is not available if editing a standard process.

You can open a Workflow solution in TotalAgility Advanced Studio and make the following modifications:

• Add any node type and save or release the process without breaking the solution. However, any unsupported nodes added via the TotalAgility Advanced Studio appear read-only in the Workflow designer.

• Modify a work type. When you reopen the solution in the Workflow designer, the process is automatically updated to reflect the changes:

  • Newly added fields are added to the key data, and the removed fields are removed from the key data for the solution.

  • The variables added to the work type are available in the Workflow designer. However, any unsupported variable type appears read-only in the Workflow designer.

• Add states. However, you must know that they exist and their correct names when using them in Workflow.

• Add notes. You can also add notes in the Workflow designer.

• Create data models and use them in the Workflow designer.

The document sets, roles, milestones, and process events are not available for use in Workflow designer; however, any of these items added via the TotalAgility Advanced Studio and configured for activities are retained when the solution is re-published.
